Jedi
It has been thousands of years since the downfall of the Republic and the Jedi Order. With the dark days of the Empire long forgotten, the Jedi have begun to rebuild their once prominent order. Hundreds of years have gone by since Luke Skywalker refounded the Jedi Order. He started to train younglings as Yoda had trained him and taught them everything he knew about being a Jedi. Those Jedi became the new Jedi Council that aided the Rebels, helping people following the war with the Empire. Luke, for all intent and purpose, knew very little about how the old Jedi Order was run. His training was rushed and he never learned the political aspects of being a Jedi. This meant that the new Jedi Order was vastly different than the one the republic new. The Jedi Code has been abandoned. Relationships are allowed and sometimes even encouraged. The Jedi Council is now comprised of the most powerful and wise of the Jedi and has contained upwards of 15 members. Jedi are declared Masters after they have proven themselves on at least 3 missions and can train others after that is accomplished. They now recruit people of all ages and races who show a sensitivity to the force. Now the Jedi do the right thing based on their own observations and are much quicker to take action. They resemble more of an advanced police force that a peace keeping organization, despite their overall goal still being to keep the peace. The new Galactic Union calls upon the Jedi to handle their more difficult crimes such as taking out cartels and dealing with criminal organizations. As far as the Jedi are concerned this new era in the galaxy is mostly peaceful and much of the Jedi's affairs are internal. This unfortunately leads some of the Jedi to feel useless. Some Jedi, especially those young and new to the order, crave battle and the chance to use their abilities to their fullest. This causes a bit of unrest within the Jedi and decisions may be made rashly. As of now the system is working, despite its few bumps. But this new generation of Jedi have yet to prove themselves against a true threat.
