The wookiee smiled sadistically and spoke in his native tongue, "<Only a fool would turn their back on the all-powerful Sith.>" The Jawa nodded and gave a high pitched giggle. "The factory is finally ready to begin cloning our most promising younglings," Bolts said. "And soon the weapon will be ready."

Kronus steepled his fingers. "Good. Upon us, the Age of the Sith shall be."
Back in his holding cell, Thagusa whistled to himself as he leaned against the wall. Suddenly, he heard footsteps approaching him. He craned his neck to try and get a better look at the approaching Jedi.

Thagusa was disappointed to see the only figures approaching him were the armored guards. They opened the door. "Get out," one of them demanded. "We're taking you to--" Suddenly, both guards were lifted into the air, grasping at their throats as the life was squeezed out of them by unseen hands. The bodies of the dead guards fell to the ground and above them appeared a tall hooded figure. The thing stood at the entrance of the cell and stared at Thagusa, blocking his way out.

Thagus grinned at the newcomer. "Well, well, well," he said. "Hello there, Tall, Dark, and Mysterious. Don't know whether I should thank you or hate you for delaying my latest meal."

The hooded figure said nothing. He nodded his head in the direction of the hallway that led to the hangar and took a step back signaling the Twi'lek to move.

Thagusa cautiously moved forward. "Ooh, the strong, silent type," he said. "Someone's been reading my wish list." He walked in the direction the hooded man signaled.

The mysterious figure led the slaver to a ship. The hangar was full of dead bodies. Most of them with crushed windpipes, but some had severed limbs and cuts that looked burnt. They entered and the ship and took off.
Later, at the Jedi Academy, Greye and his master Demmos were preparing for departure for Sriluur. They were getting a few provisions from the training room as the rest of the Padawans were being taught by Gutta and Frey. "Let's go," said Demmos, leading Greye to the shuttle that would transport them to the planet. Left behind Malewa and Saren awaited orders from the master Jedi.

"Alright, padawans, listen well," Frey said, her hands folded behind her back. "You all have been trained before, but not like this. If we are to prepare for a threat of Sith caliber, we must be diligent, and we must be prepared. And that means training every day." "We'll start with lightsaber combat," Gutta said. "Seeing as how some of you clearly need a review." He show Malewa and Saren a look.

Malewa averted his eyes as the group of padawans rumbled at the mention of the ancient foes of the Jedi. "Did you say the Sith?" asked one of the padawans.

"We're not going to sugar-coat this," Gutta said. "There is a possibility that the Sith have returned." More rumbles went through the padawans. "But it is not a definite," Frey continued. "However, we feel that we should train you all just as a precaution for this sort of thing."

The padawans looked nervous but all were in agreement, this was probably a good idea. They readied their sabers and Malewa and Saren gave each other gave each other a worried glance.

"Now," Master Frey said. "We shall begin training. Pair off with a partner and duel. Master Gutta and I will be around to further instruct you." And so, the padawans paired off in twos. As predicted, Malewa and Saren became each other's partners. Saren ignited his blue lightsaber. "Ready?" he asked, looking at Malewa.

"Me-sa born ready!" Malewa said igniting his double-bladed blue saber and clashing it with Saren's. The pair followed the movements precisely, clashing at each other and blocking every swipe.

"No, no! Wrong!" Master Gutta slithered up to them. "Your blocks are lazy! All wrong!" "But I blocked his attack, master," Saren said. "How is it--" "The only reason that you were able to block so easily is because Malewa is going easy on you," Gutta said. "You're friends, but when you fight a Sith, they won't be your friends. Those lazy blocking skills could get you killed." Saren hung his head.

Gutta turned to him. "Malewa, stand back for a moment. I'll be Saren's sparring partner for now." Malewa obeyed and sheathed his lightsaber. Gutta slithered up to Saren and igniting his own saber, a pale shade of blue. The other padawans had crowded around the scene, and even Master Frey stopped what she was doing and gawked. "Show me what you have learned, boy," Gutta said, twirling his lightsaber around. Saren charged with a strike, but Gutta lazily deflected it. Saren tried for another strike at Gutta's other side, but the master simply tossed his saber to his other hand and blocked that one as well. Saren started hacking furiously at the Hutt, but the master continued to block the strikes in a shower of sparks. He was remarkably fast for a creature his size. Suddenly, the blade flew from Saren's hand, and he found Gutta's saber pointing at his throat, humming with energy. "Were I a Sith," the master said, "you would be dead." He sheathed his saber and slithered away. "Work on your form." Glaring at the Hutt, Saren picked his lightsaber up from the floor.

In the Council room, the rest Jedi are interrupted by a few unexpected visitors. Iqris Shamaya, a florally dressed human woman, and Groda Hesrik, a handsome looking Duros, of the Galactic Union entered the chamber. Cregan surprised turned to them. "To what do we owe the pleasure, Iqris, Groda," he said. "I'm afraid we come baring bad news," Iqris said. "What is it?" Torn asked. "Thagus Haz has escaped from prison," Iqris said. "The slaver?" Liib said. "How did this happen?" Cregan demanded. "There was a break-in," explained Groda. "The security cameras showed a robed figure breaking into the hangar... wielding a lightsaber." The Jedi's eyes went wide. "General Tarkihl wishes to investigate the Jedi as suspects in the escape," Iqris added, "but I refuse to believe that the Jedi are capable of such... cruelty." "It is as we feared," Torn said. "The Sith have returned." "Impossible," said the familiar voice of General Tarkihl, entering the room. "The Sith are extinct. If someone is to be held responsible, it would most likely be one of your padawans." "I assure you, General, these padawans are simply not capable of committing such a crime," Cregal said. "Then perhaps one of the Council," Tarkihl implied. "As I recall the first of the Sith were indeed fallen Jedi, were they not?" "You'l find no fallen Jedi here," Liib said. "We shall see," Tarkihl said, turning to exit the room. "I'll need a report on all of the students at the academy, as well as the personal files of every Jedi Master on the Council." "Now, you can't just--" Cregan began. "We will cooperate," Liib interrupted. Tarkihl smiled and exited the room with the other Galactic Union Representatives. Cregan gave Liib a confused look. "We must do as he asks," Liib explained. "Doing otherwise would only implement us in a plot to aid the slaver." "What now?" asked Torn. "You heard him," Liib said. "Get a report on everyone."
Meanwhile, Thagus and the mystery figure fly through hyperspace in awkward silence. The hooded man works the navigation computer bringing the ship to some undisclosed location.

The figure said nothing but plotted a course for Sriluur.

Thagusa looked over at the controls and at the destination the figure set. "Sriluur?" he asked. "Well, isn't that odd. So either you're someone sent by my brother to get me back, or you're one of the Jedi using my information to catch my brother, disguising yourself for whatever reason." He flashed a grin at the Hoodsman and tapped at his forehead. "I'm not just a pretty face. I've also got a brain."

On the surface of Sriluur, Reyuun Haz is met by his fellow slaver Weedo. The Toydarian was accompanied by the armored Madalorian Gorell Shambeg, the "Jedi Killer." "The Jedi have captured your brother Haz," Weedo said. "He's probably already told them where to find you. We should get out of here. Forget the slaves, let the Jedi have them."

Reyuun looked at the Toydarian. "You seem to forget who we have on our side, Weedo." He nodded at Shambeg. "They don't call him 'the Jedi Killer' for nothing. Let the Jedi come. But I'm not losing this profit. A lot of credits are at stake here."
